Maps of Częstochowa, Poland from the 1930s

If you find family listed in Częstochowa in the 1930s along with a street name, it might be useful to see that location on a map from that era.

As you search for streets relevant to your family, note that there have been many changes over the years. For example, in the second map below, Ogrodowa disappears and its northern end becomes Berka Joselewicza and the rest is Generala G. Dreszera. In addition, Wilsona does not appear and the western end of Spadek becomes Garibaldiego.

Częstochowa 1930?

Though listed at Śląska Biblioteka Cyfrowa (Silesian Digital Library) as 1930, it is more likely 1932 or later, because the index lists the street Berka Joselewicza, which first appeared in Częstochowa birth, marriage, and death records in 1932.

Częstochowa “pre-1939”

Though listed at Śląska Biblioteka Cyfrowa (Silesian Digital Library) as “pre-1939,” it is more likely “pre-1932,” because the index does not list the street Berka Joselewicza, which first appeared in Częstochowa birth, marriage, and death records in 1932.
